Check Dial-Up Networking Configuration in Windows XP

1. Go to Start > Connect to > Magix




2. Click on Properties button




3. Ensure the settings is as shown below
4. Click on Options Tab




5. Ensure the settings is as shown below
6. Click on Security Tab




7. Ensure the settings is as shown below
8. Click on Networking Tab




9. Ensure the settings is as follows :

- Ensure the option "Type of dial-up server I am calling:" is PPP:Windows 95/98/NT4/2000, Internet
- Ensure the option Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is checked


10. Click on Properties button




11. Ensure both settings is checked
12. Click on DNS Tab




13. Ensure both settings is checked

- the option Obtain an IP address automatically is checked
- the option Obtain DNS Server address automatically is checked


14. Click on Advanced button




15. Ensure the settings is as shown below
16. Click on WINS Tab




17. Ensure the settings is as shown below
18. Click on OK button to close the Advanced window




19. Back to Networking Tab and click on Advanced Tab
20. Ensure the settings is as shown below

(We recommend you not to enable the option "Internet Connection Firewall")


21. Click on OK button to close the window




22. You have successfully checked the Dial-Up Networking Configuration in Windows XP
