I have Video Conferencing problem

Recommended Requirement

1. Microphone
2. WebCam (optional)
3. Netmeeting ver 3.01
4. Windows 98

Common problems are :

1. I could not see/chat at my friend ( Magix user ) using Netmeeting

This will happens when both parties are under the same subnet .
e.g.
User A has an IP of XX1.XX2.XX3.22 and
User B has an IP of XX1.XX2.XX3.134
- only the last number of the IP is different .
*The reason Magix block the IPs is due to security purpose.

There are 2 ways to solve this problem
• Both parties must run "route add" command manually

From the Windows , go to START > RUN and type in as follows:

C:\> route add DES_IP MASK MASK_IP GATEWAY_IP
e.g. User A runs "route add XX1.XX2.XX3.22 mask 255.255.255.0 XX1.XX2.XX3.2"
User B runs "route add XX1.XX2.XX3.134 mask 255.255.255.0 XX1.XX2.XX3.2"


• Auto Route Add

Click on here to run the auto Route Add.
( You need to configure your Browser Security Level to "low" in order to run this auto script )


2. How do I go about to see and chat to many people in the world using Netmeeting

We will show you how to connect to ILS server and you can see many people awaiting down there for ready chat.


3. I am new to Netmeeting - Please show me how to configure it . Getting Started

Just in case you are new to Netmeeting , follow the instructions below.


• Install Netmeeting

We recommend you to get the latest version (3.01). Click here to download the latest version of Netmeeting. If you need installation help , please call Microsoft Hotline.


• Configure Netmeeting

If you never run Netmeeting before , you need to configure it ( first time ) before you can use it.


• Open Netmeeting

Now you are ready to chit chat.
