Microsoft Windows XP Pro/Home - Configure SingNet Dial-Up Connection and Network Properties
- For Win XP Pro users:
- On the Windows Desktop, click on Start > My Network Places
- On the left side, click on View network connections
- For Win XP Home users:
- There will not be My Network Places option available
- Click on Control Panel
- On the right side, click on Network and Internet Connections
- Click on Network Connections icon below
- On the right side of the screen, right-click the mouse on your SingNet dialer and select Properties
- Ensure that under the Connect using: field, the correct modem driver is selected
- Ensure that the Phone number entered is according to the type of service (Click on here to check)
- Do not check "use dialing rules" option
- Click on Configure button
- Tick the options as follow (You may set the Maximum speed (bps) to either 115200 or 57600)
- Click on OK button
- Click on the Options tab on top
- Tick/select the options as follow:
- Click on Security tab on top
- Tick/select the options as follow
- Click on Networking tab on top
- Select the option `PPP: Windows 95/98/NT4/2000, Internet` and click on Settings button
- Tick the options as follow
- Click on OK button
- Select the option `Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)` and click on Properties button
- Tick the option `Obtain an IP address automatically`
- Tick the option `Use the following DNS server addresses:` and type in the following DNS:
- Preferred DNS server: 165.21.83.88
- Alternate DNS server: 165.21.100.88
- Click on Advanced.. button
- Tick both the options
- Click on DNS tab on top
- Ensure that the settings as as follow:
- Click on WINS tab on top
- Ensure that following options are selected
- Click on OK button
- Click on Advanced tab on top
- Untick the Internet Connection Firewall and Sharing option
- Click on OK button
- You`ve successfully configured the SingNet connection
