Configure Browser Settings - Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0

 
Proxy Setting

  1. Double-click on the Internet Explorer icon
  2. From the menubar, select Tools > Internet Options...




  3. The Internet Options window opens. Click on Connection tab.




  4. Under the Connection tab, there are 2 locations where you can set your proxy settings.


    • Dial-up settings
    • LAN settings



  5. For Dial-Up settings, please go to the Dial-Up settings item and select your dial-up connection Singnet and click on the Settings... button




  6. The SingNet Settings window opens. In the Proxy Server item, put a check mark or tick in the option box Use a proxy server
  7. Please enter one of these settings into the Address and Port fields:

  8. (For FOL Accounts, please refer to your Account Slip, SingNet JumpStart kit CD jacket or you can also get the information here. Please note also that the information entered will scroll accordingly to accomodate the field size)

      HTTP Proxy: proxy.singnet.com.sg      Port:  8080
    or
      HTTP Proxy: proxy2.singnet.com.sg     Port:  8080

  9. Click on the Advanced button to continue




  10. The Proxy Settings window opens. In the Servers item, put a check mark or tick the option box Use the same proxy server for all protocols.




  11. Click on the OK button twice go back to the Connection tab window.




  12. For LAN settings, please go to the LAN settings item and click on the LAN Settings... button
  13. The Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window opens. In the Proxy Server item, put a check mark or tick in the option box Use a proxy server
  14. Please enter one of these settings into the Address and Port fields:

  16. Click Advanced button to continue




  17. The Proxy Settings window opens. In the Servers item, put a check mark or tick the option box Use the same proxy server for all protocols.




  18. Click on the OK button to save the settings
  19. Click on the OK button to apply and update the changes
Clear Memory / Disk Cache
  1. Double-click on the Internet Explorer icon
  2. From the menubar, select Tools > Internet Options...




  3. Click on the General tab.




  4. In the Temporary Internet Files item, click on the Delete Files button. Please answer Yes when prompted.
  5. In the History item, click on Clear History... button and select Yes to confirm clear.
