Microsoft Windows 98/98SE - Connecting to SingNet

 

  1. On your Windows Desktop, locate and double-click on SingNet icon. If you do not have a SingNet icon on your Desktop, please follow the steps below. (Please take note that it may have been named differently - for example - Shortcut to SingNet, etc..)
  2. On your Windows Desktop, locate and double-click on My Computer icon
  3. My Computer window opens. Double-click on the Dial-Up Networking icon




  4. Dial-Up Networking window opens. You will see the Singnet icon
  5. Double-click on the SingNet icon




  6. The Connect To window opens. As you can see there are 4 entry items in this window.
    • Username:          Enter your UserID here
    • Password:          Enter your Login Password here

    • (Please be aware that your password is case-sensitive and comprise of alpha-numeric characters. Your password is the first item to check out if you have problems logging into the server)
    • Phone number:    171XX

    • (Please refer to the system configuration for the phone number)
    • Dialling From:      Leave this as default




  7. Click on the Connect button to connect to SingNet.
  8. The Connecting to SingNet window opens. Your modem will start dialling out. Once you are connectd to the server, the Status: will change to Verifying username and password.




  9. Once the server has verified your username and password, you will be connected to the server and this window will pop-up if this is the first time you get connected.




  10. In addition, you will be able to see that there is an additional icon on your taskbar resembling two computers connected together


  11.           


  12. Double-clicking on this icon will open this window which shows your connection details




  13. When you have finished using your SingNet account, please click on the Disconnect button to disconnect.


  14. Connecting to SingNet in Windows 98 is completed
