Setup Domain Name Server (DNS) for SingNet

  1. On your Windows Desktop, locate and double-click on My Computer icon
  2. My Computer window opens. Double-click on the Dial-Up Networking icon




  3. Dial-Up Networking window opens. You will see the Singnet icon




  4. Using the right-mouse button, click on the SingNet icon. This will open a drop list of commands that you can execute. Select Properties and left-mouse-button click on it.




  5. The SingNet properties window opens. Normally, the settings in this window need not be changed, however, if the item Use Country code and area code is ticked, please remove the tick.
  6. Click on the Server Types... tab




  7. The Server Types properties window opens. Please configure as follows :
    • Type of Dial-Up Server, select PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5 , Internet
    • Advanced options, check the option box Enable Software compression
    • Allowed network protocols, check the option box TCP/IP

  8. Click on the TCP/IP Setting... button to continue




  9. The TCP/IP Settings... properties window opens. Please configure as follows :
    • Select the item Server assigned IP Address
    • Select the item Specify name server addresses and enter the following :
      • Primary DNS:        165.21.83.88
        Secondary DNS:    165.21.100.88
    • Select the item Use Default gateway on Remote Network 

  10. Click on the OK button to continue




  11. You will be brought back to the Server Types properties window. Click on the OK button to continue
  12. You will be brought back to the SingNet properties window. Click on the OK button to continue
