Setup Domain Name Server (DNS) for SingNet

  1. Click on Start > Settings > Dial-Up Networking

  2. (Another alternative: Go to Control Panel and double-click on Dial-Up Networking icon)



  3. Dial-Up Networking window opens with SingNet icon
  4. Using the Right-Mouse-button, click on the SingNet icon. This will open a drop list of commands that you can execute. Select Properties and Left-Mouse-button click on it.




  5. The SingNet properties window opens with the General tab selected. Enter SingNet's dial-up number with reference to your account type. If you are not sure, please refer to - SingNet System Configuration for the details
  6. Under the item Use area code and Dialing Properties, remove the tick or check mark - See graphics below...
  7. Under the item Connect using, ensure that the you select the modem installed in your PC.




  8. Click on Networking tab. Please configure as follows :
    • Type of Dial-Up Server, select PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5 , Internet
    • Advanced options, check the option box Enable Software compression
    • Allowed network protocols, check the option box TCP/IP

  9. Click on TCP/IP Settings... button to continue




  10. The TCP/IP Settings... properties window opens. Please configure as follows :
    • Select the item Server assigned IP Address
    • Select the item Specify name server addresses and enter the following :
      • Primary DNS:        165.21.83.88
        Secondary DNS:    165.21.100.88
    • Select the item Use Default gateway on Remote Network 



  11. Click on Security tab. The screen below will be displayed
  12. Enter your SingNet UserID in the User name: entry box.

  13. ** Very Important - MUST be entered in lowercase or small letters **
  14. Enter the Login password assigned to your account. Please note that new accounts are normally assigned the same password for Login and Email.
  15. Other parts of this screen should be left empty




  16. Click on Scripting tab. The screen below will be displayed
  17. Set as indicated. The filename entry box should be left empty




  18. Click on Multilink tab. The screen below will be displayed
  19. Set as indicated.




  20. Click on Dialing tab. The screen below will be displayed
  21. Set as indicated.




  22. Click on OK button to continue. You will be brought back to the Dial-Up Networking window with the SingNet icon.
