Common 56k roaming connection problems are as follows:
- Unable to Login
Here are some possible solutions you should perform :
- Check Login ID
Ensure the format is email address e.g. userid@singnet.com.sg .
- Check Password Reset
Ensure that you have not reset your login password in 2-3 hours ago. It is not updated immediately to the roaming autheticate server. It will takes effect after 3 hours.
- Check Dial Properties
Ensure the country and area code is selected correctly. For Hotel/PABX , ensure that the access code ( prefix to dial to outside ) is issued in the Dial properties.
- Try Alternative Access Number
Remember to try to dial using different access number available in GRIC MobileOffice phonebook. Sometimes the access number of the ISP is not working .
- Update Phonebook
Try to update the GRICDial phonebook locally before going to oversea. Sometimes the access number has changed.
- Dial-Up Networking Maintainence
Try to delete away the unknown connection which is created by GRIC dialer in the Dial-Up Networking folder, in case it get corrupted. It will created automatically when you dial out again via GRIC connection dialer.
- Reduce Modem Speed
Try to set the modem speed to 19200 bps.
- Re-Install Modem Driver
Corrupted driver will be unable to connect to anywhere . Please refer to the Modem Vendor to assist on the installation .
- Re-Install GRICDial
Corrupted client program will be unable to connect to anywhere . The steps to re-install are as follow:
- Uninstall
To uninstall , go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Select "GRIC MobileOffice" and click on Add/Remove... button. Click on OK button to confirm to uninstall.
- Install
- Get Help at Oversea
From the GRIC program , you can get the oversea ISP help line.
- Cannot Send Email
- New Server Settings
Incoming Mail (POP3): "globalpop.singnet.com.sg"
Outgoing Mail (SMTP): "globalmail.singnet.com.sg"

- Old Server Settings
Incoming Mail (POP3): see local Incoming Mail (POP3)
Outgoing Mail (SMTP): "roaming.singnet.com.sg" or "gricmail.gric.net"
(without quotation)
- Enter proper email address "userid@singnet.com.sg" at the Replying Email Address as it will cause problem when sending email if it is not properly done.
- When sending and receiving mails from the server, please try at least twice to confirm that the process has completed successfully
- Click here if you do not know how to configure the email client
- Cannot Surf the Internet
- Check that web browser are configure to the proxy setting requirement:
