WinXP : How to check version of Network Properties
WinXP Home/Pro's built-in wireless network properties window will vary if user has installed Service Pack 1 and other patches. There are bascially 3 types. To check which type user belongs to, perform the following check:

1. Click on Start
2. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties




• Type 1 : WinXP with no Service Pack





• Type 2 : WinXP with Service Pack 1 only





To verify if user has no other patches installed,

1. Click on Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Program
2. Under the installed programs list, if there is a "Windows XP Hotfix - KB826942", refer to "Type 3" below
3. If there is a "Windows XP Hotfix (SP2) - KB815485", click on Remove button to remove it. You may receive an error message that states that some programs on the computer may not work correctly if the update is removed. Click Yes to remove the update. Restart the computer.
