Compaq WL110 : Configuration of Wireless Connection Profile (Win 98SE/ME/2000)
Before you start, please ensure that you have completely installed the Compaq WL110 driver and Client Manager Utility. Below shows the steps on how to add a new profile if you do not have any and how to edit the existing profile if it is not working in the Windows 98SE/ME/2000 operating system.
To add a new Profile
- Open the Client Manager by click on Start > Programs > Compaq WL110 > Client Manager
- Click on Actions and then Add/Edit configuration profile

- Click on Add button

- From the Profile Name , type in "Outdoor Wireless Surf"
- Select Access Point under the Network Type and click on Next > button

- Type in singtel under the Network Name and click on Next > button

- Uncheck the Enable Data Security option and click on Next > button

- Select the option Off and click on Next > button

- Tick the option Renew IP Address when selecting this profile and click on Finish button

- At the Windows taskbar, you will be able to see the Wireless Signal Indication bar

- You should be able to see the connection details in the Client Manager

- You've successfully added a new profile
To edit an existing Profile
- Open the Client Manager by click on Start > Programs > Wireless > Client Manager
- Click on Actions and then Add/Edit configuration profile

- Select "Outdoor Wireless Surf" option and click on Edit button

- Select Access Point under the Network Type and click on Next > button

- Type in singtel under the Network Name and click on Next > button

- Uncheck the Enable Data Security option and click on Next > button

- Select the option Off and click on Next > button

- Tick the option Renew IP Address when selecting this profile and click on Finish button

- You've successfully edited an existing profile
